Week 3 - June 24-28 Knitting Level I / Needle & Wet Felting
Knitting Level I (AM) / Needle & Wet Felting (PM)
Morning: Knitting Level I campers will learn to knit a scarf or a small stuffed bunny with straight needles and their choice of wool yarn. Our intrepid new knitters will learn to cast on, knit stitch, bind-off, weave in ends & make fringe or pom-poms. Advanced knitters can knit in the round & make a hat.
Afternoon: Campers will explore the art of felting with 100% wool roving to create a charming 3-dimensional animal figure using the needle (dry) felting technique. Then, they’ll get their hands wet and learn the art of wet felting! With this technique, our young fiber artists will use wool roving, water, and agitation to make decorative wool covered felted beads and multi-colored wool fabric.
