Master double-pointed needles and knit your first pair of cozy, colorful socks!

Dreaming of knitting— and wearing— your own handmade socks? Now you can, with the beginner-friendly Rye Socks pattern, and help from our resident sock expert, Valerie! If you can knit and purl and have knit something in the round (like a hat), you can knit these socks.

In this class, Valerie will guide you through the entire sock-knitting process, from the top of the cuff down to the toes. That includes using double-pointed needles (dpns), which are not as scary as they may seem! Rye is knit with light worsted/DK yarn and US size 5 needles, making these socks even more beginner-friendly and faster to finish!

The pattern includes a range of kids’ and adult sizes, and you can choose any size you like for the class.

Class: (3) Sessions 6:00 - 7:30
Instructor: Valerie Grabski

Yarn: Come early to choose from our large selection of Malabrigo Rios, Madelinetosh DK, Leading Men Fibers Dramaturg, or other machine-washable light worsted or DK weight yarn. Yardage will depend on the size you are knitting.

Materials: US 3 and US 5 double-pointed needles (dpns), stitch markers, darning needle.

Cost: $125.00 per student, class limit is 6 students*.

*Covid Compliance: Our instructors are fully vaccinated and boosted. In effort to keep other customers and students safe we require that students must be vaccinated and provide verification of vaccination dates. Masks are optional throughout the class and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry. If you have a fever or are not feeling well please notify us and do not attend the session.
