Knit one of the most beloved contemporary knitting patterns…it’s easier than you think!

If you’ve browsed the top ten patterns on Ravelry any time in the past few years, there’s a good chance you came across the Ranunculus Sweater by Midori Hirose. There are many reasons why this sweater keeps capturing hearts: it’s easy to knit, flattering to wear, and can be made in a huge range of sizes and yarn types!

Join instructor Shara in this quick and fun Ranunculus class. Students will cast on together, then learn short rows, simple lace, and textured stitches. In just two sessions (with a week between them for extra knitting time), most students should get the majority of the sweater completed. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can create this beautiful piece!

Skills: This is an Advanced Beginner class. Students should know how to cast on, knit, purl, and knit in the round. No prior sweater knitting experience is needed!

You will learn: Top-down one-piece sweater construction, Double Twist Loop cast-on, simple lace and textured stitches, German Short Rows, and right lifted increases.

Cost: $80.00 per student, 6 student capacity*

Yarn: Any yarn weight from lace to worsted (yes, really!) , but we suggest a summer yarn for the season. Shara’s sample is knit in Wonderland Yarns Summer Silk. Come early or stop by before class and we’ll help you pick your perfect yarn!

Other Materials: US 8 and US 10 circular needles, 5 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Pattern: Purchase Ranunculus by Midori Hirose on Ravelry, and come to class with a printed copy or tablet you are comfortable working on.
