Learn to crochet a sweater vest and show off your granny square style!

Ok, granny square fans, who wants to make a sweater? If you’ve mastered the double crochet stitch and made a few granny squares, you can make the Edith Vest. This sweet sleeveless sweater designed by Little Golden Nook features a colorful Granny Square front and solid back panel. It utilizes half-square triangles for a flattering V-neck and simple ribbing for neat edges.

In this three-session class, instructor Maria will guide you through the sweater crocheting process, from picking out colors, to making the granny squares, to putting the whole thing together. We’ll meet every other week, giving you extra time to work on your sweater between sessions.

Skills Needed: This is an Intermediate crochet class. Students should already know chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet, and be prepared for a bigger project. New to making Granny Squares? We recommend taking our Granny Square Workshop before you take this class.

Skills You’ll Learn: Attaching granny squares with the Join-As-You-Go technique, half-square triangles, crochet ribbed edging, and tips and tricks for pattern reading and sweater making.

Yarn: Sport weight yarn. Pattern is written for five colors, but more or fewer colors are an option. We recommend Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool for a beautiful warm-weather piece that can be layered in the fall…but have many other great options to choose from! Come early to pick out your colors from our wide selection!

Pattern: Purchase Edith Vest by Little Golden Nook on Ravelry and bring a printed copy or tablet you are comfortable with to class.

Other Materials: US G (4mm) crochet hook or hook needed to get gauge, tapestry needle, scissors, and locking stitch markers. All materials available for purchase in the shop.
